Rooted in Love is an intimate six-day retreat created by Coterie Collective Community for those longing for space to breathe, reflect, restore and move forward.
Surrounded by the lush Honduran jungle and flowing waters of the Cangrejal River, you'll experience spiritual reflection, adventure, creativity, culture, community and intentional rest.

Rooted in Love: A Sanctuary of Spiritual Rest is an invitation to temporarily step outside your normal rhythm and enter an environment intentionally created for rest, connection, reflection and renewal.
Over six days in Honduras, you'll move between quiet mornings, meaningful conversations, nature, creativity, cultural experiences, adventure and opportunities to simply be.
This isn't about filling every hour.
It's about making room.

The retreat experience

Come as you are.
Your retreat experience begins with a guided shuttle ride to the lodge, where you’ll be welcomed by the team and receive your welcome kit. After a brief information session and room assignments, the evening is yours to settle in, explore, and enjoy at your own pace.

Crafting the New Self
Reconnect with nature during a guided hike, followed by a creative scrapbook-making experience designed for reflection and connection. The rest of the day is yours to slow down and enjoy the surroundings, whether relaxing in a hammock or taking a refreshing swim in the river.

The Dance of Unity
Journey to Cayo Cochinos for a day surrounded by the beauty of the Caribbean, followed by an energizing cultural aerobics experience on the beach. Through movement, music, and shared rhythm, the day celebrates release, connection, and unity.

Calling the Ancestors
Embrace the energy of the river with an exhilarating white water rafting experience, followed by a meaningful ancestral calling practice. This day blends adventure, reflection, and spiritual connection in a way that invites you to feel grounded, present, and connected to those who came before you.

Weaving Love Into Action
Spend the day giving back through meaningful connection with the local community, including serving meals and sharing creative activities with children. The experience closes with a joyful dance celebration, bringing everyone together through service, movement, and love.

Throughout the retreat, Sheena will be joined by thoughtfully selected facilitators who will help guide meaningful moments throughout the experience.
Each facilitator is being chosen intentionally to complement the heart of the retreat and contribute to an atmosphere of rest, reflection, connection and renewal.
The final facilitator lineup will be announced as the retreat approaches.
Guests can expect a carefully curated experience supported by facilitators who bring their own gifts, perspective and presence into the space while keeping the focus on the overall journey of Rooted in Love.
The venue
Jungle River Lodge | La Ceiba, Honduras
Rooted in Love will take place at Jungle River Lodge, a rustic nature retreat situated directly along the Cangrejal River, between Pico Bonito National Park and Nombre de Dios National Park.
The setting brings guests away from the movement of the city and into an environment of river, rock, jungle and mountain views—the kind of surroundings that make slowing down feel natural.
The lodge offers multiple styles of accommodation, including private and shared lodging options. Room assignments for retreat participants will be coordinated as part of the retreat experience.

It is recommended to take a national flight to Goloson National Airport (La Ceiba) to catch the shuttle.
Ground transportation to Jungle River Lodge will be coordinated as part of the retreat package.
Guests should plan their arrival carefully to meet the retreat transportation schedule. Final flight guidance will be provided to registered participants.
Airfare is not included.

Founder, Coterie Collective Community
Born and raised in Boston as a first-generation American with family roots in Honduras, Sheena has traveled internationally to Jamaica, Trinidad, and Canada. Nationally, she has visited New York, Florida, Louisiana, Las Vegas, Nevada, Maryland, Washington, D.C., Connecticut, and more, but nowhere has touched her heart quite like Honduras.
Sheena has been traveling to Honduras over the years, beginning at age nine when she first visited with her mother. From then on, she knew she would always return.
Sheena's story has been shaped by faith, family, loss, perseverance, motherhood, and an ongoing journey toward healing.
About Coterie
Coterie Collective Community is a multi-ethnic ministry built around community, family and intentional rest.
Its gatherings encourage families to step away from the busyness of everyday life, reconnect with one another and practice the kind of Sabbath rest God intended.
Based in Braintree, Massachusetts, Coterie's broader vision includes extending this work to La Ceiba, Honduras.
Rooted in Love is an extension of that calling, with a portion of the proceeds going toward building a community center in La Ceiba.
